Purple Coneflower, Echinacea purpurea, is a wildflower that only occurs in a glade in north Florida and is restricted in the wild to a very small area of distribution in Florida. Purple Coneflower does best in in most parts of Florida in partial shade and moist, but well drained conditions. The plant can sprawl to several feet in spread and height under good conditions. The large showy blooms are attractive to butterflies and other pollinators and the bloom period is late spring through the fall.
