Cestrum nocturnum

Non-native evergreen broadleaf flowering shrub. Bright white flowers are very fragrant when opening at dusk. During the day, the flowers are less fragrant, but still noticeable. Full sun to partial shade and rich, moist soils help this smell-good plant thrive. Can reach up to 8ft tall, but is best kept at 4-5ft. Trim lightly after a bloom cycle for shape. Do a hard pruning in fall (by mid-October) or spring (late March) to control the plant's size. In the hottest months, irrigation or hand watering is necessary to not stress the plant. Even though it's not native, it's an old Florida Favorite.
