The Coreopsis genus is the state wildflower of Florida. Lanceleaf Tickseed, Coreopsis lanceolata, is an annual that reseeds and perpetuates continually in moist to average conditions. It grows to around 12 to 18 inches in height and has an attractive appearance with it's full mound of narrow foliage and stems. Its cheerful sunny flowers are small and organized into larger heads, cupped by a ring of green bracts. Tickseed blooms throughout the warm months of the year in average to moist sites in sun and makes a great plant for gardens in single specimen or massing. Lanceleaf Tickseed or Coreopsis will attract butterflies to it's nectar.
