Foxtail fern, Asparagus densiflorus, is a low growing perennial known for its unique foliage and use as a landscape plant. It grows 2-3 ft tall and 3-4 ft wide and prefers part shade to part sun. Thrives in enriched, evenly moist, well-drained soils. These plants are not actually ferns, as they produce flowers and fruit as opposed to spores. In the fall, they get covered with showy red berries that adda great ornament to the plant.
