Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis) is deciduous with glossy, papery leaves growing to 6-12 ft., or taller. Buttonbush is a handsome ornamental suited to wet soils and is also a source of honey. Ducks and other water birds and shorebirds consume the seeds. This is a great plant for lake, pond and river edges and is naturally distributed throughout most of Florida. The outstanding and unique sputnik looking globular flower structure is highly attractive to butterflies and other pollinators. The flowers are very fragrant, showy and unique!
