Product Details

Soapberry, Sapindus saponaria, a perennial, semi-deciduous tree reaching 30-40 feet high and 25-35 feet wide. May lose its leaves in the cold but is evergreen in South Florida. White flowers bloom in spring with orange fruit ripening in fall. The fruit can be used to make soap. The trees are dioecious (separate male and female) so you need both to produce fruit. Grow in part to full sun and average to very dry soil. Drought and salt tolerant.
