Aronia arbutifolia is a small, deciduous shrub found throughout the east coast. It reaches 6-8 feet high and 3-5 feet wide. It has white flowers in early spring followed by red fruit. Excellent fall color. Plant in part shade to full sun and moist to average soil conditions. It is not drought tolerant. Great as an alternative to crape myrtle in moist areas or in irrigated landscapes.
